These films were created as part of the project “Create. Empowerment through stories, art and exchange” by the Empowerment Academy of Coach e.V.
The artists told their stories on their own terms and developed the visual concepts themselves. The Empowerment Academy supports the self-determination of people affected by racism and exclusion. In a protected space, it trains multipliers and raises awareness of structural racism and discrimination—with the aim of supporting their political and social engagement. The Empowerment Academy is a project by Coach e.V.—a Cologne-based initiative for the education and integration of young migrants. As an independent educational institution, it works for equal opportunities and educational justice for young people and their families with migration backgrounds.
